ORIENTATION SESSION

Clients who are new to pilates must start with a private orientation session. During this session the client will be taught the fundamentals of the pilates method. Clients will perform basic exercises in order to develop good understanding of correct pilates technique. During this session the instructor will observe the client's natural movement patterns and identify postural deviations or muscle imbalances.

This is an important session especially for clients who experience pain during movement or have known injuries that might put them at risk during an exercise class.

REFORMER GROUP TRAINING

During this training hour 4-6 clients of similar strength and fitness level train together on the reformers.

A strong athletic workout, enjoyed by those who do not have any serious injuries and are motivated by a challenge.

SEMI-PRIVATE CLASSES

This is a pilates class where 2 people train together. A favourite choice for husband and wives or friends who enjoy exercising together.

This is also an excellent class choice if a client must be carefully supervised during training and when attention to detailed execution is essential.

PRIVATE CLASSES

In a private class the instructor only works with one client at a time.

This ensures that the class is tailored to the client’s exact needs and will address specific alignment corrections or muscle balancing.

This is the best class option for someone who needs special attention due to injury, rehabilitation needs or due to certain high risk health conditions eg osteoporosis, hypertension or pregnancy.

MAT GROUP CLASSES Studio or Zoom

All exercises are performed on an exercise mat in a group setting of 8-10 people. A balanced mat class will include exercises that strengthen, tone and stretch the whole body; there will be flow of movement threading together flexion, extension and rotation of the spine; performing conscious, precise movement focusing on a strong core and proper breathing as the foundation of each exercise.

If you are new to Pilates you will start with the Foundation level class, then progress to Beginner and eventually to the Intermediate and Advance level of strength and proficiency.
We use magic circles, foam rollers, exercise bands, hand and ankle weights, balance pads, yoga blocks, small and big balls to add to our mat workout and repertoire.

REFORMER WITH CARDIO (not currently available)

Clients use the reformer machines and perform strength and toning exercises with 2-3 sets of cardio jumping in between. The jumping action is excellent for toning legs, glutes, calves and abdominals. We include resistance training for the upper body as well as traditional reformer exercises during this session, thus making it a full body workout.

Burn fat in optimal alignment while creating a healthy heart, toned mucles and incredible core strength. Rebounding also holds amazing benefits for the lymphatic system.

PILATES BASED AQUA CLASS

We follow a pilates based water exercise program in a heated indoor pool. A wonderful exercise choice to improve cardio-vascular fitness; to tone legs, arms and abdominals; to stimulate the lymphatic system; improve balance; to exercise without strain on joints and to help ease painful inflammatory conditions like fibromyalgia. This is an easy way to obtain and maintain great functional fitness for the rest of your life - some of our clients have been doing aqua training for over 18 years.

Water training is also excellent during pregnancy, where moms-to-be can train up to the day of birth; we have wonderful results with rehabilitation of knee and hip injuries; also spine and disc injuries respond very well to this program.

JUNIOR SPORT PILATES / PILATES FOR KIDS (not currently available)

Once a term we run a 6-week course to teach young people how to use pilates principles to improve their posture in standing, sitting and other everyday activities. We also focus on strengthening teens for sport participation and teach them about skeletal and joint support they need for periods of fast growth. We keep sessions fun but also focused. Our participants must be 10 years and older.
